There was always someone making sure the Nichols family members' lives would be made easier, she said, whether it was getting her daughter on and off the bus for school or making sure dinner was provided. Nichols' mother said she doesn't think the family could have gotten through the past few months if it weren't for the support of people in the town and the surrounding area. ![]() "To have us all together is like, there aren't enough words," his mother said. "It's a really great feeling, being home and seeing all my friends and people I don't know outside cheering for me," Nichols said.Ĭhristine Nichols, Mikey's mother, noted that her son had not been home for five months and one day as of Thursday, and her whole family - Mikey, his sister, mother and father - have not all been under the same roof for a long time.
